Root-cause gut health coaching

Fix your gut.
Fix everything.

Bloating, brain fog, skin issues, low energy, stubborn weight: if you've chased these one at a time with no lasting traction, the gut is usually the thread connecting all of them. We map it, test it deliberately, and build a protocol around your case specifically.

Every plan is personalized from your history, symptoms, tracking data and labs.

01 · What we look at

Your gut is already telling you something.

Before a single test, we're mapping how it's actually showing up, since most people are sitting on more clues than they realize.

Digestive symptoms

The obvious ones, but the pattern matters as much as the presence.

Signs most people miss

Easy to check yourself, and often the first real clue.

The "unrelated" symptoms

All linked to gut inflammation and permeability in the research.

02 · How we gather data on you

Building your complete picture

Symptoms, history, diet and lifestyle usually point us in the right direction on their own: a coated tongue, foamy urine, and post-meal fatigue is already a strong signal before a single lab is drawn. Testing earns its place from there; it's never the default.

Symptoms and history point us in the right direction first. Testing earns its place from there. It's never the default.

Symptoms History Diet Lifestyle A working picture, before we test
  1. Detail your full history

When symptoms started, what may have triggered them (antibiotics, travel, a stressful period, a diet change), and how they've evolved.

  2. Log your current stack

What you're taking now and everything you've already tried. This isn't just to avoid repeating dead ends. What helped, what didn't, and what made things worse is real diagnostic information that helps us narrow down your actual root cause.

  3. Track your baseline

Tongue coating, morning temperature, and bowel movement patterns, plus diet tracking, so we can see nutrient intake and potential trigger foods that could be contributing. Real data on your body, not a one-time snapshot.

  4. Upload existing labs

We analyze any lab data you've already gotten in context with the rest of your information.

  5. Meet your dedicated advisor

A one-on-one session that probes the specifics your intake can't capture, where history, symptoms, tracking, and labs get synthesized into an actual plan.

  6. Precision lab testing

Based on everything from steps 1-5, we identify exactly which labs are actually worth running for your case. This goes well beyond stool testing: hormones, thyroid, metabolic markers, inflammation, and more are all in scope when your presentation calls for it.

Why we're careful with stool testing

We will order labs, including stool panels, when your case calls for it. But we're deliberate about how we use them. Standard stool panels sample the lumen of the descending colon, not the small intestine or the mucus layer, where a lot of the real dysfunction lives. Results also vary significantly between and within samples. More importantly, they can actively mislead: a panel can flag "imbalances" that aren't driving any of your symptoms, or come back clean while a real problem sits untouched in a part of the gut the test never sampled. Most practitioners run the panel and build the whole plan around it. We've seen countless clients come in with a stool test that pointed them in exactly the wrong direction. We'll use one when it genuinely adds clarity, and we'll tell you plainly when it won't. But it's one input among many, never the starting point on its own.

03 · What we typically find

Uncovering the root causes

Every case is different, but the root-cause map usually runs through some combination of these, and they reinforce each other, which is why treating just one rarely holds. Tap any card for the detail.

#1 · DYSBIOSIS

Bacterial imbalance

  • Overgrowth or imbalance of gut bacteria (or fungal organisms like candida)
  • Usually the first domino, and most other issues on this list trace back to it
  • Drives pain, gas, and bloating directly
  • Alters motility and triggers food intolerances

#2 · PERMEABILITY

Leaky gut

  • A compromised gut barrier lets bacterial byproducts, undigested particles, and endotoxin cross into the bloodstream
  • Triggers inflammation that surfaces far outside the gut
  • Shows up as skin issues, joint pain, mood symptoms, and hormone imbalance

#3 · MAST CELLS

Mast cells & histamine

  • Mast cells sit at the intersection of your gut bacteria, nerves, and immune response
  • Overactivation releases histamine and inflammatory mediators
  • Drives pain sensitivity and irregular bowel patterns

#4 · SEROTONIN

Gut serotonin

  • Most of the body's serotonin is made in the gut, not the brain
  • Excess gut serotonin is usually downstream of dysbiosis
  • Drives nausea, pain, diarrhea, bloating, and appetite loss

#5 · MOTILITY

Transit speed

  • Transit speed determines how much bacterial fermentation, gas, and irritation you're dealing with
  • Slowed motility is both a cause and a consequence of dysbiosis

#6 · CIRCADIAN

Circadian disruption

  • Saliva, stomach acid, enzymes, bile flow, and motility all run on a 24-hour rhythm
  • The gut's own antimicrobial defenses follow the same clock
  • Disrupted rhythm alone roughly doubles the risk of IBS

#7 · THYROID

Thyroid ↔ gut

  • Thyroid hormone drives gut cell turnover, motility, and barrier integrity
  • Gut inflammation impairs T4-to-T3 conversion
  • A gut problem can look like a thyroid problem, and vice versa

#8 · STRESS

Stress & vagal tone

  • Chronic stress impairs gut immunity
  • Alters motility and directly drives inflammation through the gut-brain axis
  • Vagal tone governs a huge share of gut motility

#9 · ESTROGEN

Estrogen load

  • The gut regulates estrogen clearance
  • Dysbiosis can cause estrogen to be reactivated instead of excreted
  • Worsens gut sensitivity and encourages mast cell activation

Recognize your symptoms in more than one of these? That's the norm, not the exception. Most cases involve several root causes at once.

04 · How we build your protocol

Precision interventions

How we address the problem is completely individualized to your unique root causes and background. Below are some examples of tools used in our comprehensive plans. Tap any card for detail.

Diet strategy

  • Lower-residue, low-fermentation diet when fermentation is clearly driving symptoms
  • Low-FODMAP approach when the pattern is more upper-GI
  • Your data determines the starting diet best for you
  • Expanded back out over time as you improve, not kept restrictive long-term

Rebalancing bacteria

  • Botanical antimicrobials (oregano oil, berberine, mastic gum)
  • Short-course pharmaceutical options when warranted
  • Structured multi-strain probiotic protocols
  • Tailored to individualized needs and presentation

Restoring motility

  • Fiber timing and type
  • Butyrate to fuel colonocytes and support the migrating motor complex
  • Acetylcholine precursors (choline, B vitamins) to support vagal signaling
  • Lifestyle practices like walking and posture techniques for enhanced transit

Rebuilding the barrier

  • Glutamine and zinc carnosine to support enterocyte repair
  • Lactoferrin and butyrate for the mucus layer and barrier integrity
  • Glycine-rich sources (bone broth, collagen) for structural repair

Circadian recalibration

  • Consistent sleep/wake timing
  • Optimizing the light environment
  • Regular meal timing
  • Together these regulate stomach acid, bile flow, enzyme secretion, and the gut's antimicrobial defenses

Histamine & mast cell support

  • Vitamin C, B vitamins, and mast cell stabilizers to reduce degranulation
  • DAO support to help break down dietary histamine
  • Targeted antihistamine strategies to interrupt the histamine-serotonin feedback loop

Thyroid & metabolic support

  • Correcting iodine, selenium, or zinc status
  • Direct thyroid hormone support when indicated
  • Addressed in parallel with gut work, not downstream of it

Stress & vagal tone

  • Acetylcholine-supporting nutrients (choline, B1, B5, B12)
  • Glycine and other calming nutrients
  • Vagal tone practices: breathwork, humming, cold exposure

Hormonal balancing

  • Supporting liver clearance pathways
  • Fiber to bind and excrete estrogen metabolites
  • Targeted nutrients like calcium-d-glucarate and DIM
